With interracial adoption becoming more wide-spread throughout the United States, the phenomena of children growing-up in an entirely different culture can leave long-term questions in the minds of the child.  As they grow to adulthood and seek their place in American society, the questions about their heritage, and family lineage still continues.
This documentary project traces the path of 5 young recent college graduates from California, in search of the birth mother of one of their own, Nisha. She was born in Goa, India and has returned back for the first time last year since she was adopted at six months old.  The documentary will focus on the challenges that stem from adoption, the emotional healing process of Indian adoptees, laws and regulations of adoption in India, opinions of supporters and non-supporters on interracial adoptions and of course, Nisha’s soul-searching journey throughout India.
